Summer Project Parents

We are excited that your son or daughter is considering taking part in a summer project. We firmly believe that this is one of the best things a college student can do with his or her summer. For many years now we have seen what a vital role it has played in students lives as they are given a rare opportunity to develop skills, leadership abilities and character traits that will become part of the foundation of who they will be for a lifetime.

Campus Crusade is an interdenominational Christian organization founded in 1951 with the purpose of helping to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ as recorded in Matthew 28:18-20. We have no ties to any one particular denomination but work instead in cooperation with many local churches to aid the spiritual development of young men and women.

Traditional, orthodox Christian beliefs are at the core of the Campus Crusade for Christ movement. We hold to the essential claims of the Christian heritage including the birth, life, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. See our Statement of Faith.

Opportunities we offer on campus include small group Bible studies, a campus-wide weekly meeting, conferences, missions projects and more. When Bill and Vonette Bright first launched Campus Crusade for Christ, the underlying concept was to "win the campus today and change the world tomorrow." More than 50 years later, the mission remains the same.

Today more than 26,000 staff members and 225,000 volunteers work in more than191 countries worldwide. We see ourselves as an extension of the local church with expertise in particular areas, working closely with pastors and churches throughout the United States and the world.

In 1965 we started our very first summer project to help a church in Ocean city, NJ reach the young people who flocked to the beach there each summer. This past summer we had over 150 different summer projects that sent over 3,300 students and staff to locations all around the globe! Every year our summer projects involve American students, recent graduates, lay people, and full-time Campus Crusade staff members.

We desire that you be informed about our summer projects and what they involve. We support you, both as a parent and in your role as a guide and guardian of your child. We encourage you to explore the information on this site and, because we have so many different projects and because our staff do ministry across the entire nation, we want to help you know who you should contact with the kinds of questions you may have.

For general questions regarding summer projects:

If your son or daughter is considering a summer project or is in the application process and you have general concerns or questions, feel free to contact us at Summer.Projects@uscm.org or call us at 1-800-690-0911.

For specific questions regarding your son or daughters particular project:

If you have more specific questions about a particular project, it would be best to contact the director for that project listed on this website. If no director is listed, we may still be in process of placing one of our staff in that leadership role for the summer. If that is the case, email us at Summer.Projects@uscm.org and we will do what we can to help or point you in the right direction.

Once your son or daughter has been accepted to a project, they will receive a welcome packet from their project leadership team with all kinds of information they will need and you most likely you will want to know. Since we have so many projects each summer, these project leadership teams have the most current and specific information regarding their project. If you and your student have questions not answered in this packet, we encourage you to contact the directors by email or phone. Their contact info will be in the welcome packet.
