Can a student get a job? no
Brisbane's universities are a melting pot for various cultures and therefore Australian students are anything but typical. They come from all over the world - Greece, Italy, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, etc. But in general, a typical Australian student is extremely social and friendly, very conversational, laid back, well traveled, and well exposed. Spiritually, they tend to primarily be agnostic or new age and are often apathetic to the Gospel. There are few Christians.
Since university is in session during the summer in Australia, the focuses of this project will be reaching out to students at Griffith University in Brisbane. We will do lots of evangelism and follow-up, along with plenty of relationship building and encouraging of local Aussie students. Project participants will be able to take the training and experience directly back to their campuses in the US. Join us down under as we reach out to Australian students and help to establish campus ministries.
Your summer project will begin with a briefing on May 23 in Minneapolis. This is mandatory and considered part of your summer.
*Attendance at a pre-briefing conference in Minneapolis, MN April 9-11 is mandatory.
