Building a relationship with a girl that I work with has been a very challenging and rewarding experience. She loves going to church with us and my friendship with her has allowed me to see where she is at and to help her grow in her relationship with her Savior.
Elise (2007 North Myrtle Beach Project)
When asked, “If you died tonight, how sure are you that you would go to heaven?” the teenager responded, “Well, yesterday I was 50% sure, but then I talked to Will (project student) last night, and now I am 100% sure!” He prayed to receive Christ the day before!
2007 Student Venture - Virginia Beach Project
I sat out back of Kohr Bros, where we worked together, and presented Nevina with the opportunity to receive Christ. Sure enough, God had been preparing her heart since that first day Shannon, another project student, met her, and she decided that this was really what she desired for her life. I was blessed with the incredible experience of hearing her accept Jesus Christ into her life in her own Bulgarian tongue!
Abby (2007 Wildwood Project)
God led me to share with a kid who was sitting on the sea wall taking a break from skateboarding. After I started talking to the guy, his friend joined the conversation and they both agreed to go through the booklet. This was actually my first time to go through it and as I stumbled through, I knew that God had really started working on their hearts. Both eventually said the prayer and it was such a blessing for God to use me in that. One of the kids had told me that the only time he learned about Jesus was when he was at hotels that had Bibles next to the beds and through the internet.
Matt (2007 San Diego Project)
I remember being at UCSD and having a conversation with Luke, an incoming freshman, who kind of knew about God and his forgiving grace, but he never chose to live by it. As we went through the booklet, he started agreeing with everything it said. Sure enough, I remember thinking, “he’s gonna accept Christ!” And he did. When we allow God to use us, he will do miraculous things. The feeling is indescribable because we are bringing God the glory.
Preston (2007 San Diego Project)
We approached a guy that looked like he was a skater. [As we talked,] God was convicting Johnny’s heart about what he needed to do and change. We prayed with him and then left. Forty minutes later he called me to say that he was convicted in his heart and put his trust in Christ. The awesome part was that he called me a week later and told me God was challenging him to share with one of his buddies. His buddy’s name was Christian, a guy whom three others had talked to the night we went sharing. After talking with Johnny, Christian put his trust in Christ. It has been awesome to see my relationship with Johnny grow and to see his passion for God transforming his heart into a solid, walking man of God.
Chris (2007 San Diego Project)
Megan and I shared the gospel with Alfredo, after an English club we held on campus, and he received Christ. That night he came to our men's Bible study and began to learn more about Christ, and it was apparent that his decision meant something to him. He has continued going to the Bible study and is growing in the Lord.
Zachary (Puebla Mexico 2006)
Kristina was asked by a Muslim girl, "Have you considered being a Muslim?" Kristina shared that she studied religion before she was a believer, and the only two that made sense were Islam and Christianity. However, she chose Christianity because she saw Jesus Christ change her life. The girl responded, "Really." This conversation was huge! Kristina gave this girl an option she had never heard of before and that is choosing Jesus. The seed has fallen, which is a huge praise in this country where we are tilling up the soil in people’s hearts that have never heard of a different option other than being Muslim.
Kristina (4th Journey 2006)
We were about to leave campus when I saw two girls talking. I felt that God wanted me to talk to them so me and another friend started a conversation with them and by the end they both accepted Christ into their lives. I was amazed at the power of the gospel and how it can speak so clearly, even through a Spanish language barrier.
Jessica Payne (2007 Mexico Journey Project)
As I shared with them, I started to see their appearance change. Their cheeks became flushed and tears started to form in their eyes. Their English became excellent and they understood every question and piece of Scripture in the 4 Laws. They transformed from not believing in God to believing in Him, in Jesus, in the knowledge of Jesus dying on the cross for their sins, in the fact that if they believed in Him their sins would be forgiven, they could have eternal life and a relationship with God that would never end right before my very eyes!!
Kathrina (Staff, 2007 East Asia UMW Project)
“God gave us joy in giving us an appointment with Sophia. [As we used the Solarium evangelism tool] she picked a picture of a girl in the dark with a light bulb and said ‘I want to know the truth…’”
Ashley (2007 Slovakia Project)
She told us about [how] her and Javier have been praying for someone like us to come along and to give them encouragement…Just as they were praying for us to come into their lives, our group had been praying for God to lead to some amazing people who were "on fire" for the Lord. They were the answer to our prayers!
Nate (2007 Mexico Journey Project)
We split into two teams to go out and talk with students. Within about an hour Jared and I were talking with a group of four students in English! We began talking with them about spiritual things, why we decided to come to Mexico, etc. and they were really eager to hear the Gospel. All four accepted Christ and two of them are starting Life Transformation Groups on their campus.
Andria (2007 Mexico Journey Project)
These students were so excited, one of them, Mirla, was clapping her hands and teared up. She said that Jesus was exactly what she needed. Another student, Cesar, told us that he had been interested in spiritual things, but everything that he had researched seemed so impersonal. Needless to say, he was so excited to know that he could enter into a personal relationship with the Lord.
Andria (2007 Mexico Journey Project)
After playing cards and chatting for a bit, he asked what we were doing in Brazil. So I pulled out the 4 Laws booklet in Portuguese and we went through it. We got to the part about grace and Vicki explained it in a way that completely made sense to him. We could just see it click in his head and the scales fall off of his eyes. I asked him if he wanted to pray the prayer, making sure he understood what all of this meant. He was eager to pray the prayer to accept Christ as his Savior.
Megan (2007 Brazil Project)
I knew Kelly understood the gospel after she took the booklet and started yelling it to her boyfriend. At that point we had met together three times. Kelly understands and believes truth more every time we meet. When looking into the Bible during our forth meeting we asked Kelly, “Who has eternal life?” She said, “Whoever believes Jesus.” Then we asked, “Do you have eternal life and when did it start.” Her precious answer was, “Yes, when I started to believe in Him.”
Londa (Staff, 2007 Brazil Project)
I worked as a manager in Dunkin Donuts and hired three people that were members of the project. They introduced Christ to me at work when we were not busy. I was intrigued and started researching it myself and was truly convinced that I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior. Honestly, I feel so lucky that they shared God with me.
Isaac (Dunkin Donuts, 2007 Wildwood Project)
I'm the blonde you spoke with on the beach Saturday...I just wanted to write you and let you know that you truly touched my life. I’ve been talked to by so many different people and it never made any sense...until now. PLEASE don't stop what you are doing...because there are TONS of confused teens/young adults that are too embarrassed to talk about it because they feel like everyone around them is already saved.
Holly (Local, 2007 North Myrtle Beach Project)
I don’t know exactly why you were here, but if your goal was to change someone and give them a better life, let me tell you that…YOU DID IT WITH ME!
Rafael (University student who accepted Christ, 2007 San Salvador Project)
About the bible it is really perfect for sure I will ask my questions. Don’t worry I’m just thinking whether you will have enough time to answer all!
Ali (University Student, 2007 4th Journey Project)
This [the gospel] is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard.
Bruno (Brazilian, 2007 Brazil Project)
Project students share their own journeys of faith and listen to others share theirs. For many, this is the first time to talk so openly about Christ to others. As they do so, the reality sets in that there are still people inTHIS country who have no idea who Jesus is or what He offers…who don’t know a single person who truly follows Christ.
Dennis (Staff, 2007 Epic Bay Area Project)
The field is definitely ripe for harvest. Each week we are presented with new high school seniors willing to discuss their beliefs. We just need to be bold in sharing the gospel with them. Their spiritual emptiness is clearly evident and Jesus Christ is the only one that can fill it.
Eric (2007 North Myrtle Beach Project)
So many of these students had never heard of the saving love of Jesus Christ; they had never heard of him coming to the earth and giving His life for us because of love.
Dana (2007 4th Journey, Middle East)
I’ve seen that Brazilian students need someone to bring the truth to them. By and large they’re spiritually open. They are all willing to discuss and listen. We’ve seen a bunch come to know God through evangelism. I’ve also seen the lack of laborers here. The Brazilian students are amazingly dedicated, but there simply aren’t enough of them.
Tim (2007 Brazil Summer Project)
I remember stating once when I was younger, “I’ll never be a missionary in a foreign country.” I never knew how wrong I would be until this summer. God has really changed my desire for the world and he has shown me how my plans are not always the best. He’s shown me how to boldly share my faith in a country where no one believes God exists. God has sparked an interest about Him in so many of the Swede’s hearts we’ve talked to. I know that even as we leave this country and the years pass by, that God is working here in Sweden.
Leigh (2007 Sweden Project)
He is so much bigger and more real to me now.
Karen (2007 San Salvador Project)
There were tons of things that held me back from listening to God… such as raising a large amount of support, going on a project where no one else on my campus was going, not speaking the language, hearing that I should go stateside first…However, I came to a point where I knew I just had to trust God with my summer and say “Yes” to his calling me to Brazil. I have had a life changing experience here that all came from fully trusting God with everything at every moment.
Amy (2007 Brazil Project)
There were a lot of things about God’s character that I knew, but did not own for myself or fully understand. Throughout this summer, I was able to come to understand His character better and own that for myself and not just others. This is a huge thing in my life and has brought me to a new level of loving God.
Sarah (2007 Brazil Project)
I never really learned how to present the gospel in a clear manner, which made it seem difficult to express my faith well. My summer in Moscow gave me a new vision for returning to campus, equipping me with skills and confidence to give greater effort to reaching lost students at my university for Jesus.
Clint (2007 Moscow Project)
Whether I am lost in Moscow or living comfortably in my dorm, I can’t do anything without him. He consciously keeps me safe at every moment. If not for his love for me, I would be lost in the aching pain of my sinful heart or the twisted lies and expectations of this mortal coil. He is the only light for me and every other moaning soul in Moscow and around the world.
Mary Grace (2007 Moscow Project)
My biggest hesitation about going on summer project was that I was so nervous about raising support. I knew I wouldn't feel comfortable at all asking people for money. Plus I come from a really small church, and I just wasn't sure where the money would come from. But God is sovereign, and he did provide-- despite my doubts. All of the money arrived on time, and it was exciting to see that God really was working and that it was His will for me to go to East Asia.
2007 East Asia Project Student
Trusting the rope completely gave me the freedom to successfully climb the rock-face just as trusting God completely gives me the true freedom to live.
Anna (2007 Acadia Leadership Adventure Project)
It’s amazing to see how much God can transform your heart in such a little time.
Susan (2007 North Myrtle Beach Project)
I grew SO much in evangelism and have even more of a heart and confidence for it now.
Mike (2007 Student Venture – CSU Project)
God especially showed me via the project how much I've been missing in the way of real Christian fellowship. Already since project, I believe I've been able to be more open and loving with others.
2007 Crossroads: Indy Innovation Project
It was a turning point of sorts for me, because I could have reacted the way I'd always done…withdrew and blamed myself, thinking I could never be a leader and people could never respect me. But the Project Director sat me down, and laid it all out, giving me the truth: I will fall sometimes, but God does not disown me. God used the Director to initiate me as a man and as a leader to stand up even when it feels hopeless. When I realized and began to believe that God had given me authority, as a son and co-heir, I began to lead courageously. When I came back from project, God used me to lead my family through a spiritually rough patch, my sister through a destructive relationship, and my Residence Hall Staff as I came back to school. I've never known anything like it!
2007 Crossroads: Indy Innovation Project
It's so easy to talk about your faith. Beach evangelism opened my eyes to help me realize that many people are desiring to know God. I was so scared. I prayed continuously to God that he would bring the right people to talk to me. Next thing I know, out of the thousands of people on the beach I run into several girls from Nebraska. Wow, God surely answers. He filled me with so much courage I was able to go talk to the next person..and the next. Why should it be so hard to talk to my sorority sister about God? It shouldn't.
Julie (2007 Greek Summit Project)
I can remember before project when I only read God’s word maybe twice a month. But since the beginning of project, I have learned that the only way to know Jesus is to understand and read His Word. The Bible teaches me, every day now, how awesome God is and how desperate I am without him. I have really begun to own my faith. It is not just what my parents have taught me, but it is the truth and it lives in me.
Kenny (2007 San Diego Project)
God has been teaching me so much this summer by spending time in His word and through prayer. I have learned to follow Jesus more closely and to follow His commands. Every week, I get closer to being able to comprehend more fully what Jesus did for me on the cross and, as a result, I want to share this with others.
Laszlo (2007 San Diego Project)
Greek Summit has transformed my heart of stone to a heart of compassion and love for my house and my sisters, and it teaches applicable things to build your confidence in your faith.
Dana (2007 Breckenridge Greek Summit)
We explored the tourist-y parts of the city and then a few of the 77 communities that make up Chicago. Our group realized that we do not have to go to other countries to make a difference in the world, but merely a few stops down on the public transportation.
(2007 Inner City: Chicago Project)
We saw that the people have a real yearning to talk about spiritual things.
(2007 Inner City: Chicago Project)
We had a lot of training on a variety of topics such as children’s ministry, how to interact with other cultures, and how to share our faith, all of which prepared us to do ministry.
(2007 Inner City: Chicago Project)
There have been so many moments this summer where God has moved and I have been left standing awestruck that He would include me in His work.
James (2007 Inner City: Milwaukee Project)
Through spending the summer in Milwaukee, God significantly increased my heart for the children of inner cities. The brokenness and lack of hope in their lives became a reality.
Cait (2007 Inner City: Milwaukee Project)
On Project we were stretched and challenged. We met people who were not only crying out for the Gospel, but also crying out for food, protection, financial aid, and justice.
Cath and Sydney (2007 Inner City: Milwaukee Project)
When I stepped out of (my comfort zone) this summer, God blessed me in more astonishing ways then I ever thought possible.
Ren (2007 Inner City: Seattle/Prison Project)
We were encouraged, energized, and ultimately blessed to ministry to the poor, the hungry, and the homeless in Seattle…
Joseph (2007 Inner City: Seattle/Prison Project)
…it was a blessing to see drug-addicted, anger-ridden, homeless individuals realize that Christ loves them exactly as they are, and desires to give them an abundant life if they simply turn away from their already dismal lives and trust in Him.
Jonathan (2007 Inner City: Seattle/Prison Project)
I've grown in my relationship with the Lord by understanding more about who He is. Before project I knew what God had done for me, but I did not understand as much about His character. I realized I was doing all types of things for God so He would love me more. Understanding Christ's love for me has helped me grow so much!! It's also given me a different reason to serve Him.
2007 Impact Virginia Beach Project
I will never forget this experience. We were doing outreach on the beach. My partner and felt led to share with these two young men. We introduced ourselves, and began a dialogue with them regarding hip hop… the conversation transitioned into spiritual matters…We answered questions, shared the gospel, and gave our personal testimonies… We talked some more, but at the end of the conversation [the one most interested] did not receive Christ. He said he wanted to, but not at that time… Three days later [we] learned that the guy had accepted Christ into his life. They entered into a discipleship relationship for the remainder of the summer. We bought him a bible and some other study tools and he came and hung out with us a few times during the summer. It was such a great experience to see the Holy Spirit move on someone's heart and to see the importance and effectiveness of follow-up. PRAISE GOD!
2007 Impact Virginia Beach Project
[This] experience has allowed me to grow a lot spiritually and meet other college students that are following Christ. As I go off to college for the first time in the fall I am excited about being able to possibly start an Impact chapter on my campus and be a light amongst darkness.
2007 Impact Music Project
It was summer project that brought healing to my heart and taught me how to trust again. I am still a broken vessel, but it is through the cracks of humility where God's light shines through. I am still reaping the benefits of my time in Orlando and Impact has truly become my family. I am excited about ministering on campus and in the DC community. I have a renewed zeal for God that was ignited during summer project. I cannot wait to share the love of God worldwide!!!
2007 Impact Summer Internship Project
We have been witnessing God’s divine hand upon the land of Ghana and we are blessed to be apart of it. Kofi and I approached a group of about five women and a man. After the process of sharing the gospel and educating these people about Jesus, they prayed to receive Christ! It is amazing to think that we almost passed them by as a part of our normal routine.
2007 Ghana Impact Project
Even though he was a “Christian”, he had not accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. To him, Christianity was attending church, doing good, and what is in the Bible. Going through the picture booklet with him with the help of the Holy Spirit, he understood that the only way to eternity is accepting Christ into our heart. He prayed to receive Christ. Glory to God!
2007 Ghana Impact Project
Upon returning from my walk, I challenged four boys to come to church service with me. They were resistant at first, but on the way back, I witnessed to them and they all gave their lives to Christ. During the church service they went through follow up and stayed until the end. How happy they were to be assured that they were now children of God and that their sins were forgiven. They never regretted following me. Praise God!

EPIC Hawaii project is the perfect project for all Asian American Christians who wants to discover their identity as an Asian American and who they are in Christ. I grew so much in my relationship with the Lord. Through the EPIC Hawaii Project, I grew more confident about myself, who am I in Christ and I feel more confident sharing Jesus to others on my own campus.
2007 Epic Hawaii Project
This turned out to be a project on myself…we learned how to be Christ-centered and Christ-incarnate through this project.
John (2007 Epic Bay Area Project)
He taught me what it means to find true worth in my sonship in Christ as an Asian-American and the true measure of a Godly man.
Brian (2007 Epic Bay Area Project)
What made the Epic Hawaii summer project so great was that we were all Asian. I’ve never been in a more comfortable environment in my life. Being in such a comfortable environment helped me to gain a better understanding about myself.
Mark (2007 Epic Hawaii Project)
It was then and there that I knew the very thing that drove me was the very thing I was meant to share: God’s love. This love was too much for me to keep to myself, and I wanted to share it with everyone.
Mark (2007 Epic Hawaii Project)
Most importantly, I learned that just like my summer, my life shouldn't be about making more money or simply helping others, it should be about doing God's work that will last for an eternity. The experience I had from this summer project gave me skills to take back to my college campus, but it also gave me lessons in life.
Anna (2007 Epic Hawaii Project)
I learned to step out in faith and discuss spiritual matters with other volunteers. One of our staff reminded me that evangelism is not an activity but a lifestyle.
Rachel (2007 Epic Bay Area Project)
Pretty soon after I accepted Christ my freshman year of college, God really put passions for art and for artists in my heart. This summer on the Tribeca arts project was so great because I learned so much about using my passions and my gifts to glorify the Lord. God changed so much about the way I see Him and the way I see myself as an artist and a Christian. I'm really excited to go back to my campus this fall and start reaching out to students majoring in the arts. It will be much easier for me to put my passion in to action after the practical application I gained from summer project this year!
2007 New York Tribeca – Arts Project
This year in New York, I came to Tribeca Arts Project with other students from my campus. We grew together engaging city students with the gospel through artistic expression. This month, we have launched a new movement on our campus dedicated to creative students, and we already have a lot of interest. It is exciting for us to be caught up in what God wants to do on.
2007 New York Tribeca – Arts Project
Rachel had undergone an amputation procedure…she felt as if she was being punished by God and didn't know how He could be loving or forgiving. In spite of all of this, she said was searching for peace. I presented to her the gospel and tried to remove some of her misconceptions [about God]. When we got to the sinner's prayer I asked her if it represented the desire of her heart. She said it did…I started into the sinner's prayer and she repeated it. She was beaming. I asked her if now she believed that Christ paid the death penalty for her. She said yes. I asked, "Did He?" She said, "I know He did." I asked where Christ was now and she said He's in her heart.
Scott (2007 Health Student Project)
When asked, “If you died tonight, how sure are you that you would go to heaven?” the teenager responded, “Well, yesterday I was 50% sure, but then I talked to Will (project student) last night, and now I am 100% sure!” He prayed to receive Christ the day before!

Project really gave me that urge to go out and spread the Word to everyone. I was only on a week long project but I learned so much...I wish I had chosen a full summer project. With everything I took from the adventure week I feel a lot more confident in sharing the gospel.
2007 San Diego Adventure Project
I learned that God does not call people who "have it all together" or who have all the answers, but He uses even those who are broken and far from getting it all right. He showed me that its not about being perfect, but about having a willing heart.
2007 San Diego Metro Project
Spending a day at an orphanage in Mexico and a day as a homeless in downtown taught me a ton about God's heart for the poor. I gained great perspective throughout the whole project on things like poverty, movement launching, and the spiritual disciplines.
2007 San Diego Metro Project
Relationships take work, and my relationship with the Lord is no different. It's tiring, frustrating, and sometimes does not seem worth it. But knowing God intimately is like digging for hidden treasure in the sand. I don't know what is down there exactly - but I know it's valuable, and so I need to keep digging. With God, I can't even imagine the value of knowing Him intimately ... but I know that it is so precious, and that I must preservere in working to know Him better.
2007 Acadia Leadership Adventure Project
Being on project has really helped me gain a solid foundation for my faith. I am excited to go back to my campus trained to share with other lost students how they also can have a personal relationship with Jesus that can change their life.
Becca (2007 AIA Colorado Project)
Next year Jarrod and I will be leading AIA at Ball State University. This summer experience has motivated me to serve God in new ways and taught me to put all confidence in Christ so I can become an obedient servant.
Jordan (2007 AIA Colorado Project)
I got a new perspective on my character through life and sports because of these principles and having a heart for God.
