What is a Summer Project?
Summer project offers the opportunity for you to take the good news of forgiveness in Jesus to virtually anywhere in the world with Campus Crusade for Christ so ultimately everyone will know someone who truly follows Jesus!
Anywhere you go will involve taking steps of faith - following God as He stretches you to become the kind of person He wants you to be.
Campus Crusade for Christ offers more than 150 unique summer projects. Some are 10 weeks long, others just a week. Some go overseas to places you have never heard of, others are here in the U.S. where you live. You might be reaching out to college campuses in the U.S. or internationally, a beach or resort community, an Hispanic/Latino community, an African American community, an Asian American community, High School students, International students, Greeks on campus, Athletes, an Inner City community, the Art community, a Military community...You get the picture.
U.S. Summer Projects:
No matter the length or ministry focus, our U.S. summer projects offer great training and ministry experience. If you want to grow deeper in your relationship with God and heart for the lost world around you, a U.S. summer project may be a great choice for you. On project, you will be with 30-150 other students who also desire to grow in their walk with God, in how to share Jesus with lost people, and to learn some great ministry skills to take back to campus in the fall. Our U.S. summer projects offer some of the best evangelism training you can get. Not only will you grow in confidence through training on how to communicate the message of the Gospel, but you will grow in confidence as you go out and talk to people in the community you are in, people at work, and as you see others on project share and learn from them. Remember, you will not be growing alone, but you will be taking steps of faith in a community of others like you!
Any project experience will make for a very full schedule. You will enjoy building relationships with others on project, getting into the Word in small groups, being trained in how to grow in your own personal walk with the Lord, how to share your faith, how to spiritually multiply your life into others, and how to launch new movements on campus. You will be amazed at how the Lord with grow you and how He will use you and your project to bring others to Himself!

International Summer Projects:
On most of our International Summer Projects you are part of a team starting a very new ministry with 10-40 other students and staff. You will spend a lot of your time meeting new people, sharing your faith and doing basic follow up in a university setting. In most cases it is very relational. You are making friends and talking about Jesus. You are building relationships and bringing people to a point of decision. After you see people trust Christ you begin to do basic follow up with them and begin to help them develop the skills they will need to walk with God. The ministry you do this summer is usually followed up by a team who will be in your location for the upcoming year. In other locations, there are currently existing teams that you will help build momentum and generate contacts for.
An International Summer Project is an opportunity to experience a new culture (sightseeing, food, people, and culture), to be involved in international ministry and to work with a team whose common purpose is to make Christ known on the college campus. All of what we do internationally can give you great ministry skills to use back on campus, especially to launch new movements!
On an International Summer Project you will receive some training in how to go about ministry in a manner that is culturally relevant and sensitive to your location, however it is assumed that you know how to share your faith. If you are not comfortable or do not know how to share your faith, but are going internationally this summer, you should ask a Crusade staff at your campus to teach you. If there are no Crusade staff on your campus, pursue training through your local church. Typically, an International Summer Project gives less attention to your individual development and more attention to ministry at that location. Training and development will happen, but if your desire is specifically for training and development, a U.S. Summer Project may suit you better this summer.
